Case 2:  You register domain name from SmarterASP.NET, and you have set up your own DNS server, just need to specify ns1.yourdomain, ns2.yourdomain ... as your own name server address.
  • Please contact our support to register your own name server from our backend.
  • Then you will be able to use ns1.yourdomain, ns2.yourdomain ... as your own name server address.

Case 3:  You register domain name from elsewhere and want to use our name server for DNS resolution.

1. Login to your hosting account -->websites from the top navigation, click "Manage domain name" to add the domain to the corresponding site.

2. Ping ns1.site4now.net, ns2.site4now.net, ns3.site4now.net on your local and record down these IPs.

3. In Control Panel -->DNS, add A record of ns1.yourdomain.com to the A record of ns1.site4now.net, A record of ns2.yourdomain.com to the A record of ns2.site4now.net and A record of ns3.yourdomain.com to the A record of ns3.site4now.net

4. Login to your domain registrar’s control panel and find the place where to define your own name servers to set your dns name servers.

After the dns propagation, your own dns name servers would be working fine.

Case 4:  You register domain name from elsewhere and do not want to use our name server for DNS resolution. Then you will need to contact with your domain registrar to set up it for you. There is nothing need to be configured on our end.

If do not use our DNS IP as our own name server, then no need to add A record for his own name server name from our Control Panel. But you will need to make sure you have external name servers set up and you need to point eg, ns1.yourdomain.com,  ns2.yourdomain.com,  ns3.yourdomain.com to the name server IP from your real DNS management platform.
